NPDL has the abilities to materialise your ideas via:

• Engineering design and analysis.
• Physical idea demonstrators or working prototypes.
• Physical test data, both native and processed.

NPDL uses CAELinux for internal engineering design and analysis work, which includes but not limited to: 2D and 3D computer-aided design, Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Fluid-Structure Interaction, and Multi-Physics Simulations.

CAELinux is an open source engineering software package, this ensures that your ideas can be respectfully patented without software licensing issues.

In addition to CAELinux, NPDL also possesses the skills to use other commercial engineering software, including but not limited to:

• Inventor (CAD and simulations).
• SolidWorks (CAD and simulations).
• ANSYS (Mechanical, Fluent, CFX, LS-DYNA).
• ADINA.

Hardware wise, NPDL workshop has the following facilities for physical prototyping:

• Lathe machine.
• Milling machine.
• 3D printer.
• General fabrication tools e.g. welding machine, grinder, driller, mitre saw etc.
• General electrical tools e.g. soldering machine, multi-meter etc.
• General computer programming and interfacing tools.
